quotes

Usually when people are sad, they don't do anything.
They just cry over their condition.
But when they get angry, they bring about a change.
- Malcolm X, , Malcolm X Speaks, 1965

Life is as tedious as a twice-told tale
Vexing the dull ear of a drowsy man.
- William Shakespeare , "King John", Act 3 scene 4 Greatest English dramatist & poet (1564 - 1616)

Every human being on this earth is born with a tragedy, and it isn't original sin. He's born with the tragedy that he has to grow up. That he has to leave the nest, the security, and go out to do battle. He has to lose everything that is lovely and fight for a new loveliness of his own making, and it's a tragedy. A lot of people don't have the courage to do it.
- Helen Hayes (1900 - 1993), in Roy Newquist, Showcase, 1966

It's not real.
It doesn't feel real.
You do the routines.
Every day,
Every single day.
Till you lose her.
You lose c.i.n.t.a.
Then you wake up.
You cry.
And cry.
And cry.
Now you believe.
It is all real.
All real.

No more.

Growing Up
Sunday, November 22, 2009

I still remember the local family drama "Growing Up" which used to air when I was much much younger. It was a favourite in my list of TeeVee shows although as usual, I have so much to comment. What got me hooked was watching the cast 'grow up' on TeeVee and that they didn't have to fake an accent to speak proper English. Haha.

OK Nadia, straight to the point. (Argh!)

Nadia: God, if I'm good, would you grant me one wish? I promise I won't disappoint you.
God: So, what's your wish?
Nadia: I don't want to grow up. (Yes, I don't!). Can I just be 22? I want to be immortal. Like those vampires I read about in Twilight.

----

I'm afraid.
Time passes by very fast and sometimes I wish that time will just stop for a second.
Or, maybe more.
I still have lots of things to do. To achieve.
I'm not ready.

Do you feel the same way too?

SLOW DANCE
Sunday, July 19, 2009

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short.
The music won't last

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,'Hi'
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift...Thrown away.
Life is not a race
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
