Perfume Review & Wishlist

I know. I've been so so lazy in updating my blog although I have so many things to write about! But for now, I'm going to talk about perfumes!

My current go-to perfume is the Ralph Lauren Romance.

It was a gift from mumsie when she came back from a holiday trip, and me, being very particular about perfume scents, was very afraid that i wouldn't like it. But it turned out quite nice, it's a pretty light scent, (i'm bad at describing scents), but after using it for months now, i realise that the scent tends to go off after a while. That is sucky. I like my scents to stay on forever. haha. i wish. Plus it doesn't even matter how much I spray on my body, it just lasted a short while. bleargh. Out of 5 stars, I would give it a 3!

As I was browsing through the display counters in Sasa, I discovered this!

The packaging looked so luxurious plus black and gold is always my thing. But again, I thought, it's just marketing strategies, the perfume could most probably stink. So, I went to look at other things before finally deciding to give it a sniff. And omg, I am so in love! It has that sweet, seductive scent which I always love! Most perfumes that I own in da same family tree, lasted quite long. I don't have to keep spraying and spraying AND spraying.

As my wishlist gets longer, I'm starting to think, am I wanting too much? Hmmm..

Style 09 07 10 : NastyGal & G2000

Been loving these looks below! It has everything I'm looking for; that softness and a bit of edge thrown in. Besides, it's easier to wear them in this very hot weather. You can get them here!

If you hadn't already seen the feature of the famous Hong Kong brand G2000 in the Urban paper, do go run to your local G2000 and check out their new Fall Collection!! G2000 has definitely stepped up its game in terms of their quality, material, colours as well as design! I am fabulously amazed!

Honestly, I don't usually buy my clothes at G2000 just because I like my work clothes to be a little bit out-of-the-box. If you don't already know me by now, I don't like to stick with the masses. (: G2000 didn't offer me that then, but now??? I can't say No! For their newly combined G2000 Woman Fall Collection, think soft, flowy georgettes, comfy twills in earthly tones, nicely structured ginghams, well cut-out navy blazers, asymmetricals, classically-inspired "Coco De Chanels" and even biker-chic leather jackets! You will never have to look so "typical" at work anymore!

Prices start at SGD 29 for plain formal woven tops and SGD59 onwards for more excellent picks. (: Good job G2000!
And oh, this G2000 ad below always never fail to catch my eye!

Update 08 31 10 : Book Haul & Style Loves

I've been so busy lately I haven't gotten a chance to update my blog. These past 2 weeks have been nothing but crazy. But I'm glad I was given an opportunity to see beyond the 'red carpet' and the experience has also made me want to learn about it even more on my own. As for now, I finally, finally, have time to breathe. But that also means that this is going to be a long entry. (:

I managed to grab myself some books at a recent Borders sale and my local Popular. I've been feeling a bit stupid, slow and kept thinking that my English is deteriorating lately so I thought I should start reading again. I used to read alot when I was much younger so I kind of missed it too.

The first book I got and have completed was Dan Brown's Lost Symbol. This book is very mind-intriguing and makes you think. If you're not into mysteries and history, do not read this book. It's like a text book in a novel format. Overall, 3.5 out of 5 popcorns! Popular was having a sale when I got it, 20% off the original price. Go check out your local Popular!

The next few books are on fashion and styling, essentials I needed for that 2 weeks stint and more. Have not read everything yet though so a review is not possible. I got them at a Borders sale for a very low price, going as low as $5!!

Books aside, I've been loving Dolce Vita's shoes for the unique detail on her pumps and T by Alexander Wang for comfort and simplicity!!

I have not discovered my favourite designer as of yet, someone whom I really love and follow but I will let you know if I've found him/her. (: Have you found yours?

Updates 101: Revlon Photoready Foundation & Makeup For All Magazine Summer 2010

The famous Revlon PhotoReady foundation is finally in stores now! It claims to make you look picture-perfect or like its name, "Photo-ready". It retails for about 29.90SGD (I think) and you can get yours at your local drugstores and even Metro outlets. Be warned though, this foundation is pretty 'shimmery' so if you don't like that kind of finish, just forget about it.

Now, if you're suddenly feeling like a bookworm and don't want to spend any money, have a look at Makeup4All's Summer 2010 magazine. What caught my eye was a feature of my favourite Youtube guru, BellaDuJourNYC. Check it out here!

Oh. Have I shown you this awesome shoe closet/rack that I stumbled upon in tumblr? p/s: I totally forgot where I took it so I can't give proper credits to the blogger/photographer. sorry!

Take Your Pick: Designer Shoes

This is the second out of the many entries that I'm going to put up on shoes!! I love shoes and I know many women out there love shoes as well. My new shoe closet that I share with my sister is all crammed up that I have some shoes stored under my bed and room window.

Although I don't really care much about designer shoes, sometimes I do yearn to have one to call my own. I cannot say much about quality as I'm an amateur at this but I do own a pair of Camel Active brown suede loafers that is definitely comfortable and so soft! Sometimes I feel like wearing them out every single day!

Well, I've came up with a few gorgeous designer shoes that I think you shoe-lovers would simply adore and go grab them if you really think they're worth the dough! Oh, I have to warn you though, I love ALL KINDS of shoes, even the eccentric-looking platform ones. :P

Mai Couture Review : Face Papier Collection

Mai Couture was created by Mai Tran, a makeup artist herself, who believes that formula and packaging are two vital elements that make a brand. With that in mind, the Face Papier Collection was born. This collection is for everyone but targeted especially for people who don't usually have much time to apply/re-apply their makeup and are always on-the-go. These could range from travelling makeup artists to event planners.

So what's in this Collection? Currently they have three main products which are the 2 in 1 Oil Blotting Bronzing Papier, Blush Papier and Rejuvenate Oil Blotting Papier. In simple terms, they are all paper material which comes in 3 different forms; a bronzer, blusher and the typical oil-blotting sheets. According to their website, "The collection has it all: you can remove excess oil, add color to cheeks, get a glowing complexion, or simply refresh and revitalize your skin."

Blush Papier

2-in-1 Oil-Blotting Bronzing Papier

First of all, I must say, the packaging is absolutely gorgeous! It screams out elegance and *money!! The gold chains in contrast with the simple but chic black wallet, oh My God, major loves.

Besides that, I don't really see much use to these products. You can say I'm pretty traditional. I'd rather much prefer using a brush to apply my blush or contour my face. The bronzing and blush papers have pigments in them that transfer to your skin once you dab it onto your cheeks or anywhere on your face. It applies exactly the same way you usually do with an oil-blotting paper and provides colour that is buildable. It claims to eliminate the shine or oil on your face at the same time but then again, you don't usually have much shine on your cheeks.

Hmm... Do I recommend them? Only if you're a very busy woman and need makeup on-the-go. They're not a necessity or an essential must-have item.

If you're hesitant to buy them because they're a new company, don't worry, they've made quite a good impression for themselves already, gracing People Magazine and lots more.

The 2-in-1 Oil Blotting Bronzing Papier retails at 100 sheets for 33USD and Blush Papier at 50 sheets for 28USD. Mai Couture does not ship internationally.

Wishlist: White Rubber Watches

Swayed by all the hype, I've wanted to get a white rubber wrist watch for a few months already now. I don't know much about watches and their terminologies although I've read a bit of Revolution and GMT a while back so I can't say much about the technical aspects of these watches. What attracted me was the rubber texture and its casual yet classic look. I simply adore the curved bumps on the wrist part of these watches.

*Toy Watch

*Swatch

I wish I could get myself a Michael Kors or a Chanel one day but impatience and temptations may just pull me in to buy a $5 or $10 watch that's similar looking at Bugis Street.

My birthday's in April. Early birthday gift for me, anyone? :P
